Singapore has one of the world's most transparent immigration systems. Foreign nationals generally need either:

• A Visa (to enter Singapore, depending on nationality), or

• A Pass (to work, study, train, or stay long-term).

Most employment-related passes are administered by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), while entry visas, Student's Passes, permanent residence matters, and border control are handled by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
